All About Ms. Hudson

I thought it might be fun to tell you a little bit about me so that we could get to know each other. How does that sound? My full name is Kimberly Anne Hudson. I know that is a pretty long name. Sometime I feel like Chrysanthemum when I sign my name! Last year I was know as Ms. Milton, but this year I have a new name. It will be hard for all of us to get used to :)

I am 42 years old and I have two wonderful daughters. Kaitlyn is my oldest daughter, and she is 19. She is starting her sophomore year in college this Fall at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Fl. She is a softball player for Flagler Lady Saints, and goes to college on an athletic scholarship. I am most proud of Kaitlyn's grades. She finished her Freshman year with a 3.5 GPA. Being an athlete and keeping your grades up is very difficult and Kaitlyn did it!! Kaitlyn has worked very hard to make this dream of hers come true. I hope one day some of you can do this too! My younger daughter's name is Miranda, and she is 12. Miranda is in 7th grade at Williston Middle School this year.  She is plays Volleyball this Fall, and Softball in the Spring. Miranda finished her 6th grade year with a 3.7 GPA! As you can tell Miranda wants to be just like her big sister. Miranda is just as smart and talented as Kaitlyn, and I can hardly wait to see what she decides to do with the next 6 years of her life. Both Kaitlyn and Miranda make Ms. Hudson very proud and I love them very, very much!

Ms. Hudson  was raised right here in Williston, just like you! Guess what? I even went to Joyce Bullock Elementary School!! That's right I used to be a "Bullock Bear" when I was little too. I went to Williston Middle School and graduated from Williston High School, too. I then decided to work for a couple of years before going to college. I worked at Shands Hospital for several years before finally deciding that it was time for me to do what I always wanted to do....teach YOU! I decided to go back to college, work hard and get my degree in Elementary Education. I graduated Summa Cum Laude (that means straight A's in college) and I was very proud of myself.

I was hired at Joyce Bullock Elementary in 2002 by Mrs. Candy Dean as a 1st Grade Teacher. I taught 8 years in 1st Grade and then decided to loop to 2nd Grade in 2010. I taught the next 2 years in 2nd Grade and I really enjoyed teaching that level, but I decided to move back to 1st Grade last year. I have been truly blessed to have taught with some amazing teachers throughout our town and county. I am looking forward to teaching with some amazing and talented 1st Grade teachers again this year too! You boys and girls are what make my job so special. I love coming to school each day to see you, I love all the fun we have each day together, but more than anything I love watching you learn and grow each day!
